A beautiful antique heart shaped locket crafted in the Victorian era, circa 1890. It is not stamped but it is gold back and front, which was found mostly on lockets in the Victorian era to make them harder wearing. It means that the back and front of the locket are gold, but the remainder-the rims, catches, frames, loop and jump ring are not gold. In the centre of the locket there is a bloodstone shaped heart, the back of the locket has beautiful engraving. It has the original fittings inside to enclose pictures. The inner frame comes out to allow this.
