This is a simply magnificent piece of Victorian jewellery. It comprises of a tortoiseshell locket with pique inlay, a technique which cannot be reproduced today, making it especially desirable and harder to come by. It comes complete with a very unusual decorative silver chain, which is also Victorian. Inside the locket is the original inner sections, including the hair, presumably belonging to a loved one of a previous owner. The locket can take two photographs.

MATERIALS: Silver, tortoiseshell, pique

DIMENSIONS: Chain is approx 24″ L with 1″ fastening to bale of the locket. Locket is 4.5cm L x 3cm W.

ERA/HALLMARK: Victorian, circa 1870. Stamped silver on the chain.
