A lovely vintage bangle made from 9ct rolled gold, also known as ‘gold fill’ or ‘gold filled’. In this bangle there is 1/5th 9ct gold and a technique is used where layers of 9ct gold are pressure bonded to jeweller’s brass. The gold layer sits on the outside of the brass core. It is better quality than gold plate as it won’t flake over time and is long lasting. There is a lot more gold used than in gold plate.
This bangle has beautiful floral engraving on one side, while the other side is plain. If you pull the bangle apart at one of the hinges, the bangle extends open so that you can fit it over the hand.
It is a perfect bangle to wear alone or layered with others. A great vintage gold coloured bangle, without the price tag of real gold.
