This exquisite antique silver and enamel brooch was crafted by renowned Norwegian silversmith Marius Hammer, most likely dating from the early 1900s to the Edwardian period. Made in high-grade 930 silver and beautifully decorated with guilloché enamel in delicate shades of soft green, it features a central seed pearl detail that feels elegant and refined. Antique enamel jewellery lovers, collectors of Scandinavian silver, and people who appreciate meaningful heirloom-quality pieces will adore this brooch.

Design & Craftsmanship

Marius Hammer was one of Norway’s most important jewellery makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based in Bergen, his workshop became famous for exceptional silver craftsmanship and breathtaking enamel work. This brooch showcases the qualities that made his pieces so coveted. The oval body displays intricate engine-turned guilloché engraving beneath the enamel, which creates a mesmerising radiating pattern. Gentle green tones shift in the light, while a central pearl adds softness. Traditional Hammer hallmarking can be seen to the reverse, together with the 930S silver mark, a standard commonly used in Scandinavian jewellery of the period. The workmanship is meticulous, artistic, and unmistakably Scandinavian.
