Description
This Art Deco sapphire and diamond bar brooch is crafted in 14ct gold. It features an oval sapphire at the centre, rose cut diamonds, and slim linear proportions. The antique pin works beautifully on a lapel, scarf, knitwear, or neckline. Sapphire is also the September birthstone, which adds further appeal for gifting.
Design & Craftsmanship
The 1920s brooch has a refined bar form with a strong central focus. An oval sapphire sits at the centre, while rose cut diamonds add soft sparkle around it and along the shoulders. Meanwhile, the tapering lines draw the eye outward and give the piece a balanced, elegant shape. Fine millegrain detail sharpens the design, and the white-topped front contrasts well against the warm gold reverse. As a result, the brooch feels delicate, crisp, and very well resolved.
Why We Love This Brooch
We love this antique brooch because it bridges two important design periods. The slim bar shape and fine detailing feel late Edwardian, while the cleaner geometry points toward early Art Deco. Therefore, it has broad appeal for buyers who want antique jewellery with both softness and structure. The sapphire gives the piece rich colour, while the rose cut diamonds provide a gentler, more atmospheric light than modern cuts. The scale makes it easy to wear, which adds real long-term versatility.
How to Style
This Art Deco sapphire and diamond brooch suits someone who likes antique jewellery with elegant detail and strong design. It will appeal to a buyer who wants a refined alternative to larger statement brooches. Because of its narrow shape, it sits neatly on coats, collars, scarves, and jumpers. However, it can also work well on a dress neckline or as part of a layered antique jewellery look. It pairs easily with both yellow and white metals, so it is simple to style.
