Description
This Edwardian sapphire and seed pearl ring dates to 1904 and is crafted in 18ct yellow gold. The broad band carries an alternating arrangement of blue sapphires and seed pearls, while the inscription “Bessie 1904” adds a particularly personal piece of history. As a result, this celestial ring combines decorative period design with a clearly documented date.
Design & Craftsmanship
The early twentieth cerntruy ring uses a wide gold band with the gemstones set directly across the front. Two sapphires alternate with three seed pearls, each held within star and diamond-shaped engraved settings. The geometric star-cut decoration also gives the ring a distinctive Edwardian character while keeping the profile practical and comfortable.
Why We Love This Ring
The engraved inscription gives this ring genuine individuality. Rather than relying only on style, it carries a name and date that connect it directly to 1904. Meanwhile, the sapphire and seed pearl combination gives the band enough detail to feel special without becoming overly ornate. It also has the solid feel and longevity associated with antique gold bands, which makes it appealing both as a wearable antique and as a small piece of personal history.
How to Style
This Edwardian sapphire and seed pearl ring will suit someone who prefers antique bands with character over more conventional gemstone rings. Its low profile makes it practical for regular wear, while the broad band gives it enough presence to wear alone. At the same time, it can sit alongside slimmer gold rings for a layered look. Sapphire is the September birthstone, so it also offers a thoughtful gifting connection for a September birthday or anniversary.
