Jessica Spencer and Roberta Swift, a mother and daughter team who run Aladdin's Cave antique jewellery shop in Leeds

Job Vacancies

Part-Time Jewellery and Retail Assistant

We’re looking for a warm, friendly and reliable person to join our small team at Aladdin’s Cave Jewellery in Leeds city centre.

Established more than 45 years ago, Aladdin’s Cave is an independent, family-run business specialising in antique and vintage jewellery. We’re a close-knit team, so we’re looking for someone who will enjoy getting to know our customers, take pride in the shop and become a valued part of the business.

About the role:

This is a part-time position working approximately three to four days per week.

The usual working days can be discussed, as we’re happy to offer some flexibility for the right person. The role will also include some Saturdays on a rota, usually one or two per month, along with occasional additional hours to cover holidays, sickness and busy periods such as Christmas.

There may be scope for the role and hours to develop over time.

The role will include:

• Welcoming customers and helping them choose jewellery
• Presenting and handling antique and vintage pieces with care
• Processing sales and taking payments
• Keeping the shop and displays looking their best
• Preparing and packing online orders
• Assisting with stock and general shop administration
• Helping with the day-to-day running of the shop

When the shop is quieter, there may also be opportunities to assist with our website, online shop, product photography, image editing and social media content.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Warm, approachable and confident with customers
• Dependable, honest and attentive to detail
• Comfortable working as part of a small team
• Organised and able to use their initiative
• Willing to learn about antique and vintage jewellery
• Available to work some Saturdays and occasional additional hours

Previous retail or customer-facing experience would be helpful, but jewellery experience isn’t essential as full training will be provided. A genuine interest in jewellery and its history is more important.

Experience with websites, e-commerce, photography, social media, visual merchandising or image editing would be an added advantage.

How to apply:

Please email your CV along with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself, why you would like to work with us and your general availability.

Email: [email protected]

Applications close: 30/09/26

We’ll be reviewing applications as they arrive and may begin speaking to suitable candidates before the closing date.
