Description
This 1930s sapphire and diamond three stone ring in 18ct white gold combines a richly coloured central sapphire with two substantial diamonds. The sapphire weighs approximately 0.80ct, while each diamond also weighs approximately 0.80ct, giving an estimated total diamond weight of around 1.6ct. The classic three stone arrangement gives the ring strong presence without feeling overly elaborate. Because sapphire is September’s birthstone, it also makes a thoughtful choice for a significant birthday, anniversary or engagement ring.
Design & Craftsmanship
The antique trilogy ring centres on an oval faceted sapphire with a deep blue tone. Two round diamonds flank the sapphire and create a balanced, symmetrical profile. Individual claw settings hold each stone securely while allowing plenty of light to reach the facets. Therefore, the diamonds provide strong contrast against the darker central sapphire. The 18ct white gold construction keeps the overall look crisp and cohesive, while the gently tapering shoulders lead the eye naturally towards the three stones. This combination of generous gemstone proportions and straightforward construction reflects the practical elegance of 1930s jewellery.
Why We Love This Ring
The proportions make this ring particularly appealing. Each gemstone has enough scale to make an impact, yet the three stone layout remains easy to wear. Meanwhile, the central sapphire introduces colour without overwhelming the diamonds. The ring also offers the substance and durability associated with 18ct gold, which suits regular wear when treated with appropriate care. Because three stone rings have remained popular across generations, the design also feels enduring rather than tied to one fashion cycle.
How to Style
This 1930s sapphire and diamond three stone ring suits someone who wants a distinctive antique engagement ring, a substantial sapphire ring or an alternative to a traditional diamond solitaire. It works equally well as an anniversary ring or a statement piece for everyday wear. The white gold setting pairs naturally with other white metal jewellery, while the blue sapphire works with both neutral and colourful wardrobes. At the same time, the balanced three stone profile gives it enough presence to wear alone without additional stacking rings.
