Description

A 1930s emerald, enamel and diamond ring in 18ct yellow gold, designed with an oval emerald to the centre and a striking geometric surround. This distinctive ring combines emerald, vivid green enamel, small diamonds, and warm yellow gold in a compact design that feels both decorative and highly wearable. As an antique dress ring, alternative engagement ring, or collector’s piece, it offers strong period character in a neat and practical scale. Emerald is also the birthstone for May, which adds to its appeal for gifting.

Design & Craftsmanship

The antique ring centres on an oval emerald in a rubover setting, framed by a shaped oval plaque with green enamel detail and small diamond highlights. Four diamond-set panels mark the cardinal points, which give the design a balanced geometric layout and a distinctly 1930s look. Meanwhile, the combination of glossy enamel, white settings, and yellow gold creates clear contrast across the head of the ring. The setting rises gently from the finger and has an open gallery beneath, which keeps the design light while allowing the central stone to stand out. Overall, the ring feels carefully composed, decorative, and true to the period.

Why We Love This Ring

We love this 1930s ring because it offers more than a standard emerald cluster. The enamel gives it colour and definition, while the small diamonds add brightness without overwhelming the design. At the same time, the scale makes it easy to wear every day. It suits someone who values vintage jewellery with personality, strong design, and genuine period detail rather than something more conventional.

Styling Ideas

This 1930s emerald and enamel ring would suit someone drawn to 1930s Art Deco jewellery, unusual vintage design, and rich green tones. Because of its modest scale, it works well as an everyday ring, a distinctive engagement ring, or a meaningful gift. It also pairs nicely with a simple gold band, although it has enough detail to wear beautifully on its own. Meanwhile, the mix of emerald, enamel, and diamonds makes it especially appealing to buyers who want a vintage ring with colour, contrast, and a slightly more individual look.
