Art Deco Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Ring

Description

This Art Deco sapphire and diamond three stone ring dates to the 1920s and showcases a rich oval blue sapphire measuring approximately 2ct, flanked by two old cut diamonds of approximately 0.6ct each. Crafted in platinum, this classic antique sapphire ring offers strong geometry, balanced proportions, and timeless presence, making it ideal as an engagement ring or statement piece for someone who appreciates authentic period design. Sapphire is the birthstone for September and symbolises wisdom and loyalty, which makes this ring especially meaningful as a commitment ring or anniversary gift.

Design & Craftsmanship

The oval sapphire sits centrally in platinum claw settings, allowing light to pass through the stone and intensify its deep blue tone. On either side, two bright old cut diamonds add symmetry and brilliance. Each diamond measures approximately 5.5mm, which typically corresponds to around 0.6ct per stone depending on depth and cut proportions. Therefore, the total estimated diamond weight is approximately 1.2ct combined. The central sapphire, at approximately 7mm x 9mm, is likely in the region of 2ct.

Old cut diamonds display larger facets and a softer, more romantic sparkle than modern brilliant cuts. As a result, they create broad flashes of light rather than sharp scintillation. The platinum mount enhances durability while keeping the focus on the gemstones. In addition, the fine claw work and gently tapering shoulders reflect the refined craftsmanship typical of the Art Deco period.

Why We Love This Ring

This timeless 1920s trilogy ring delivers rich, confident colour, while the old cut diamonds provide warmth and character. It feels substantial without being heavy. Moreover, it offers genuine antique presence with proportions that remain effortlessly wearable today. It suits someone with discerning taste who values authenticity over mass production and wants a ring with history, craftsmanship, and classic style.

Styling Ideas

This Art Deco sapphire and diamond three stone ring works perfectly as an alternative engagement ring. However, it also makes a striking statement ring for everyday wear. The three stone design symbolises past, present, and future, which adds emotional significance. You can pair it with a simple platinum or diamond band for a cohesive bridal look. Alternatively, wear it alone to let the sapphire command attention.
