Antique Gold Carnelian Poison Fob

Description

An Edwardian 9ct gold fob pendant set with carnelian. This is unique to other gold fob pendants as it is known as a ‘poison fob’, as it opens to revel a secret compartment. Of course no one would really keep poison in there, but it can hold a sentimental item such a photo or lock of hair. The sides of the gold fob are intricately engraved and the detail is exquisite. It can be worn on an albert chain, muff chain or even alongside a pocket watch.

 

]MATERIALS: 9ct yellow gold

DIMENSIONS: Total length including the bail is 30mm. The carnelian base is approx 20mm x 15mm. The bail is approx 4mm inner diameter.

ERA/HALLMARK: Circa Edwardian era. Stamped 9ct.

WEIGHT: 6.60g

CONDITION: Considering the age, this antique gold fob pendant is in excellent condition with minimal wear and no damage.
